Patti Arlene Spurgeon Ervin, 66, was called home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2021 in Pasadena, Texas.

Patti was born in Uvalde, Texas on February 11, 1955 to Herman and Ruth Spurgeon. Patti spent her childhood and much of her life in Odessa, Texas. She was a bright student and accomplished athlete with a great love for the Lord from an early age. Patti was head cheerleader and Miss Odessa High School. She went on to tour around the country, singing with acts such as Wayne Newton, Glen Campbell, Robert Goulet and Bobby Goldsboro. Her larger-than-life personality and unmatched sense of humor also landed her a gig writing for Joan Rivers. Patti planted her roots as a West Texas troubadour, singing with well-known local acts like Pepper Martin and The Bill Ervin Band.

Patti’s passions went beyond her abilities to entertain. She worked to help improve countless lives at High Sky Children’s Ranch and Ervin Wellness Center. She had a big heart for the needy and for the broken. She loved to give people the good news of God and guide them in deepening their spiritual walk.

Perhaps her greatest passion was her family. Patti was “Gigis” to a two-year-old granddaughter. The two shared a close relationship and so many wonderful memories that many children never get to experience with their grandparents in a lifetime. Ellie was Patti’s heart, and vice
versa.

Patti is survived by her daughter, Alexandria Ervin Foster and son-in-law Landon Foster, her sisters, Rita Adcock, Sherry Fletcher, brother Howard Spurgeon and her granddaughter, Elliana Foster.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Brittainni Golden, father, Herman Spurgeon, her mother, Ruth Spurgeon and brother Herman Spurgeon, Jr.

Patti’s life will be celebrated with a service at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Cisco Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Tyler Parson officiating.

Obituary:
ODESSA Donald Baker, 53, best husband, dad, peep & brother passed from this life on Monday, March 17, 2008.

He was born to Frankie Baker on December 28, 1954, in Odessa, Texas. He was raised by his beloved grandparents, Della and Frank Brown in Monahans, Texas. He married the love of his life, LaVona (Allison) Baker on August 24, 1973, in Odessa, Texas. Together they had their most prized possessions: Son, James Baker and Daughter, Tanya (Baker) Bedrick. Just when they thought life could not get any better, James gave them 2 granddaughters and Tanya gave them 3 grandsons.

Night and day, he was the backbone of McLean & Sons Inc. of Odessa for over 30 years. When he was not working, he loved to attend the grandkids ball games and in his "spare" time, he loved watching cooking shows and experimenting with his culinary talent. Before his grandkids and discovering his culinary talent, he was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He succeeded in overpowering his boss during a Cuba fishing trip when he won Champion Fisherman of the week by catching the biggest fish. Everyone that knew Donald could call on him day or night and he would be knocking at their door eager to help in any way possible whether it be physical work or emotional support. He was LaVona's rock and best friend.

Donald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Della Brown, his mother, Frankie Baker Hall and his loving sister-in-law Donna Douglas.
